Toyota Boshoku America (TBA) has an array of partners.  And Walker International Transportation is its latest.

TBA has just announced a $100 million partnership with Walker International, a minority-owned international logistics company who will handle TBA’s in-bound supply chain and transportation logistics for the next three years.

“Toyota Boshoku America is a new client for Walker International Transportation and the largest initiative in the history of our organization,” says Emmett Walker, CEO for Walker International.

TBA, a Tier 1 automotive interior supplier, has a reputation for collaborating with minority-owned businesses.

“TBA’s commitment to minority businesses is remarkable and we are honored to be working as their in-bound supply chain and transportation management services provider,” Walker says.

First on the agenda for Walker is using the strengths in TBA’s transport network to reduce miles, transit times and logistics costs, and amplify cube utilization.  All this means greater efficiency, better business and happiness on both sides.

This solidified the deal from TBA’s perspective.

“Walker International has a proven track record in transportation logistics and on-time delivery, which makes our partnership even stronger and enhances the long-term success for both companies,” says Steve Binkowski, TBA’s Vice President of Purchasing.  “In our business, we must provide high quality products at the lowest cost for our customers, while delivering them just in time.”

In addition, Walker International will help trim down on TBA’s inventory, sourcing and transport costs.  Planning, product launches and packaging are also part of the deal.

Leaders at Walker International are confident they will succeed.

“This is an excellent opportunity to take best practices in network and route optimization, and carrier management, and apply them to achieve Toyota Boshoku America’s supply chain transformation objectives,” says George Wilkinson, President of Walker International Transportation.
