Stock Yards bank offers fast, attentive service

Despite being in the Cincinnati market since last July, Stock Yards Bank & Trust has just concluded its official grand opening week at Fourth and Race streets downtown.

The full-service bank, which is based in Louisville, caters to the high net worth individual who may be too small for the big banks, but may require more attention than a community bank can provide.

The staff of seven all-local employees means that Stock Yards is mobile, knowledgeable of the marketplace, and can make quick decisions, says local Vice President Chip Workman.

Besides quality service, the bank also provides no-fee ATM use, online banking, and the latest in sophisticated banking technology.

And a visit to Stock Yards is a visual treat.  The old Federal Reserve Bank building was carefully restored by general contractor K4 Architecture in just over three months.

From a recruiting standpoint, Workman believes it was important to locate the initial branch in the center of it all – downtown.

“It would have been a whole lot cheaper to open a branch in Northern Kentucky and not have to deal with Ohio regulatory issues,” he said.  “But there’s a different feel about being downtown.  And from here, we’re accessible to people on the west side, on the east side, and in Northern Kentucky.”

Workman says that they expect to grow the staff to nine or ten employees before considering opening a second branch.

“We’re excited to be laying the foundation here in Cincinnati,” he said.
