E.W. Scripps Co. launches “Democracy 2008” at its TV stations

Cincinnati-based media company E.W. Scripps plans to make free airtime available to political candidates on its nine network-affiliated TV stations. The stations will provide five minutes of free airtime to candidates nightly between 5 p.m. and 11:35 p.m. in the 30 days before the general elections in 2008 as well as prpvide other public service programming.

Procter & Gamble promotion linked to clean drinking water

 A Procter & Gamble initiative means that for  P&G coupons redeemed during March and April, the company will donate one liter of clean and purified filtered drinking water to the developing world, where waterborne diseases remain a leading cause of illness.
