State incentives fuel R&D expansion

With the help of state grants, PPG Industries Inc. plans to create 10 full-time positions in an expansion of its research and development operations in Greater Cincinnati.

PPG Industries Inc. plans to create 10 full-time positions in an expansion of its research and development operations in the Greater Cincinnati community of Miami Township. The company is making the expansion with the help of more than $160,000 in grants from three state agencies, said State Sen. Tom Niehaus. The grants will help it buy new machinery and lease additional space. PPG is a global supplier of coatings and chemicals. The expansion “not only benefits our local economy, but it also benefits local residents by providing new job opportunities,” Niehaus said.
