Fountain Square and the PNC Summer Music Series get a big boost from corporate partners PNC and P&G, helping put Cincinnati on the national map as an innovator in the private funding of public events.
Bryce Dessner, guitarist with the National, invoked musical lessons learned during he and his brother Aaron's days in Cincinnati as well as an affinity for his hometown to create Music Now. The fifth installment by the now Brooklyn based Dessner features three nights of chamber-pop/avant garde compositions by some of music's most adventerous and spirited indie musicians. It also involves the community with outreach to a neighborhood school and a special commission honoring a SCPA student.
