American Sign Museum featured in USA Today

Saturday’s edition of USA Today features a tour and a brief history of the American Sign Museum in Walnut Hills.

Museum founder and president Tod Swormstedt leads writer Lisa Cornwell through the foyer, or “Sign Garden”, into an open, brightly-lit space with filled with signs spanning from the late 1800s to the 1970s.

According to the article, Swormstedt left his job with the industry trade journal Sign of the Times to start what he calls his “mid-life crisis” project, which he opened to the public in 2005.

With over 2,000 visitors annually and more signs being acquired every day, the museum has proven so successful that it will move to Camp Washington in late 2008 or early 2009.
