No Mother, however, would want to miss all that Main Street has to offer with the kick off of the 5th Annual Second Sunday on Main.

An estimated 300,000 Cincinnatians can claim Appalachian roots. Are you one of them? Whether you are or aren’t, the 40th Annual Appalachian Festival is still the place to be this Mother’s Day weekend. The annual Springtime festival has grown into one of the largest in the Cincinnati area. New Found Road will headline the musical line-up while cloggers, storytellers, artisans and crafters as well as a “Live History” village will provide entertainment for the whole family. Fans of Cincinnati Ballet have cast their votes and their voices have been heard. As the venerated ballet company winds down its 45th Anniversary, their final production of the season will feature work chosen by subscribers. Cincinnati Ballet’s Greatest Hits: A 45th Anniversary Celebration will feature Graceland, set to the music of Paul Simon; Balanchine’s sexy Rubies duet from his Jewels ballet; an excerpt from the classic Giselle; Javelin – a powerhouse for ten men, and last but not least, Victoria Morgan’s company showcase, Boléro. Still not sure what to do with Mom on Sunday? Head to OTR for Second Sunday on Main. The 5th year kick-off will feature unique shopping, wine tasting by City Cellars and a Christian Moerlein Beer Garden. Don’t miss the widely popular Celebrity Chef Demo featuring Slim’s own Joanne Drilling. There will, of course, be live music throughout the day from a variety of artists including: The Hiders, Kelly Thomas & The Fabulous Pick Ups, 500 Miles to Memphis and more. Second Sunday starts at noon and don’t be late because the first 200 Moms get free flowers.
