Southwest Ohio journalists receive multiple awards through the OSPJ
A variety of our favorite local broadcast, print, and online publications received recognition for their diligent reporting in 2018.
The 2019 winners of the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists’ annual contest are in, and Cincinnati and Dayton’s television, radio, print, and digital media won multiple awards in this statewide contest.
The Cincinnati Enquirer and cincinnati.com received a total of eight first-place awards for different categories, including Alexander Coolidge’s feature, “A Child Could Die,” (Investigative Reporting), and Mark Curnutte’s stories that won first place for Minority Issues Reporting.
Other local first place winners are The Cincinnati Business Courier (which received Best of Show: Weekly, among other honors), and 97.1 WVXU and The Dayton Daily News, both with six first-place spots.
The Dayton Jewish Observer, the Journal-News (Hamilton), The Cincinnati Herald, Cincy Magazine, WCPO, and Soapbox Cincinnati all received second-place honors for reporting.
