Artworks bares it all with their latest exhibition EXPOSED which includes works by over 70 of the Top 100 Artists from the 2008 Secret Artworks event. EXPOSED will reveal both the artist’s identities as well as their current works. And due to the liberties artists were allowed this time around, this will be one uninhibited exhibit you don’t want to miss. The exhibit will be on display at the gallery thru July 31st.

Southgate House starts the stars and stripes celebration a little early this year with the PBR Independence Day Throwdown. Both Friday and Saturday doors open at 3:00 p.m. for the two-day music show which features 14 bands including: The Legendary Shack Shakers, The Tillers, Unknown Hinson, 500 Miles to Memphis and many more. So if you’re not in the mood for cookouts with the family, head to Southgate House and enjoy a little freedom of expression.  Purchase a two-day pass for only $25 George Washington’s.

How would Sam Adams, the man not the beer, celebrate Independence Day if he were alive today? With so many celebrations going on in Cincy it’d be hard for him and old John Hancock to decide on just one place to party. So here are a few suggestions for how you can spend your 4th of July. The All American Birthday Celebration takes over Sawyer Point and Yeatman’s Cove for an all day birthday party complete with food, cornhole, rides and live music all day long. Or hit the other cove, Ault Park Cove that is, for the Ault Park Independence Day Celebration. They’ll be children’s programs beginning at 10:30 a.m. and Jake Speed and the Freddies will perform Cincinnati favorites starting at 6:00 p.m. The only thing missing from these birthday parties is the piñata!  If you’re looking for a more classic way to celebrate, Red, White and Boom! is perfect for you. The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra -as part of Red Hot NIghts-will put on an all-American show at Riverbend Music Center. They’ll perform all the best American songs and anthems along with Copland’s Lincoln Portrait in honor of the Lincoln Bicentennial-news anchor Clyde Gray will narrate.
