Traffic is getting worse in Cincinnati
Congested roadways cost commuters both time and money.
Although it’s not even close to being as bad as larger, more populated cities like Boston, Los Angeles, or New York, Cincinnati ranks the 36th worst in the country for traffic, with motorists spending an average of 60 hours per year stuck in traffic, a 3 percent increase from last year.
Time lost in traffic isn’t the only concern — it’s estimated that Queen City commuters lost about $834 per year as well. Weather, construction, and infrastructure issues contribute to the problems, but Cincinnati is finding some ways to make improvements, like ODOT projects that help alleviate traffic, including the I-75 Thru the Valley project, a nearly $600 million seven-phase project stretching eight miles from Ronald Reagan Highway to just south of I-275, and includes a I-75 lane addition, resurfacing, and interchange work.
