United States Playing Card Company to relocate to Northern Kentucky

The venerated United States Playing Card Co. is preparing to relocate its headquarters to a $30 million manufacturing, distribution and headquarters campus to Boone County early next year. The 570,000 square foot facility sits on 40 acres of what was the former Gap distribution center and will house new equipment that promises to keep the company competitive. The company indicates that the existing facility is ideal for future expansion.

U.S. Playing Card employs over 500 workers and traces its beginnings to Cincinnati, OH in the late 1800s. The company is now part of Jarden Branded Consumables, a division of Jarden Corp.

President, Phil Dolci, offers his thanks to partners Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corp., the state of Kentucky, Boone County, and Gateway Community and Technical College who helped in creating a strong, comprehensive incentive package to make this project possible.

“We were highly impressed with the outstanding support we received during the site selection and thank each state and local team for their efforts to secure this major investment. The
Northern Kentucky location uniquely offers an easily accessible campus for our employees, who live throughout the region,” says Dolci.

The move will also help the company to enhance its conservation efforts as the new building and
equipment will drive down energy usage and increase the amount of product to be recycled.

The campus will also serve as the headquarters for art and craft supplier, Loew-Cornell, another member of the Jarden Branded Consumables family, whose corporate functions will be relocated to the new facility from Englewood, NJ.
