Northern Kentucky Biodiesel Plant Close to Start-up

When Bluegrass BioDiesel starts operating at the end of the month it will become the largest biodiesel fuel producer in Northern Kentucky, and the second largest in the entire state.

The company plans to produce around 14 million gallons of B100 grade biodiesel fuel annually.  The 60,000 square-foot facility in Northern Kentucky will have about 16 full-time employees.

The company also plans to install two giant biodiesel-powered turbines in an adjacent field and sell the produced energy.  There are also plans to do on-site research on algae, something that could be the next frontier in alternative energy.
