Margy Waller moves back to lead Arts and Culture Partnership

A new push to build awareness of the value of the arts to the region’s vitality will be led by Margy Waller, who is heading back to her hometown from Washington, D.C. As VP of the Arts and Culture Partnership, Waller says she hopes for nothing less than “a national model for a new conversation about the importance of arts and culture in our communities.” The Partnership,established this year by the Fine Arts Fund and the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr./U.S. Bank Foundation, aims to promote awareness and participation in the arts and increase the impact of arts education.
 
Waller is executive director of the Mobility Agenda, a D.C.-based think tank that leads a dialogue about strengthening the labor market, improving the economy, workers and communities. She’s been a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution, working on economic studies and metropolitan policy, a senior advisor in the Clinton-Gore White House and director of public policy at United Way of America.  Before moving east, Waller worked in Cincinnati in policy development and advocacy for United Way and the Fine Arts Fund, and as a public service attorney.
