The Xavier University men’s basketball team’s trip to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament has university officials bracing for an increase in applications for admission.

The Xavier University men’s basketball team’s trip to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament has university officials bracing for an increase in applications for admission.

According to kypost.com, the university saw the largest freshman class in its history after their last Elite Eight appearance in 2004.

Deb Del Valle, public relations director for the university, says that the publicity that the team is receiving is priceless.

Meg Haupt from Pleasanton, California is coming to Xavier next fall, largely because of the team’s success.

“It really showed me that they had a lot of community and spirit and that was important in looking at Xavier,” Haupt said.
