Eureka's new online market lets companies buy and sell ideas

Eureka Ranch Technology held a soft launch yesterday for the USA National Innovation Marketplace, an online registry where researchers and inventors can post ideas they've developed.

Companies of any size can browse the registry to find ideas that they like, then contact the inventor for purchase or collaboration.

According to the Wall Street Journal, small businesses certified by their local Manufacturing Extension Partnership network center will be given first priority to posted ideas for the first 100 days, allowing them to incubate ideas and sell them to big businesses.

Initially, the site, at planeteureka.com, will be free for both buyers and sellers of ideas, but may eventually move to a pay model.
