A new report released by the
American Institute of Architects looks at the 12 best green building incentives by state and local governments, which includes the City of Cincinnati's tax exemption. According to Interior Design,
Local Leaders in Sustainability - Green Incentives highlights the challenges in creating and maintaining incentive programs and examines their effectiveness.
Some of the best incentives included tax reductions, expedited permits, and allowances for additional building height. Cincinnati's program provides a 100 percent property tax exemption for 15 years for new LEED-certified buildings and 10 years for LEED renovations for residential buildings valued up to $500,000.
