In a recent study by the Brookings Institution, the Cincinnati-Middletown metropolitan region ranked in the top 20 metro areas for on-time performance with the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport serving as the primary airport.
The top 100 largest metro areas were evaluated in the study, with Cincinnati landing at #20 with an on-time arrival rate of 81.6 percent as of June of this year. The #20 spot tied the Cincinnati region with Indianapolis, but ranked it ahead of other nearby metropolitan areas like Columbus and Louisville.
The study also discovered that twenty-six metro areas account for the majority of delays. The worst performing metro area is New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island, while Salt Lake City was the best with 86 percent of its flights arriving on time.
