As the next generation enters the professional world, cities are gradually reflecting the tastes and sensibilities of their new residents.
To help ease this generational transformation in Cincinnati, Mayor Mark Mallory is relying on his Young Professional’s Kitchen Cabinet (YPKC) to advise city hall on things hip.
As Mallory’s YPKC has garnered attention as a relevant, effective YPO, representatives were chosen as a Best Practice Organization for the 2008 YP Summit, recently held in Cocoa Beach, Florida.
The 2008 YP Summit was a uniquely YP driven forum that attracted YPO leaders from over 25 states, representing a collective membership of 100,000 strong.
At the summit, Mallory’s YPKC held a panel discussion titled “Advocacy: Taking a Stand and Giving Input on Issues that Matter to Your Young Professional Organization,” in which they demonstrated their prowess as the first YPO in the country to serve as urban advisers to the mayor of a major city.
A look at how this movement is shaping things locally can be found here.
