Northlich's new CEO expects more growth

With a new CEO, Cincinnati’s largest advertising and public relations agency expects to continue growing. Kathy Selker has been named CEO of Northlich, a brand strategy and communications firm with 155 employees. Mark Serrianne, the CEO for 10 years, sold his interest to Selker, who was chief operating officer. It’s only the fourth time in the agency's 58-year history that ownership has changed hands, each time to a senior agency executive.

Serrianne, who continues as chairman, says Northlich is poised for more growth under Selker’s leadership. “Kathy has an incredible command of our business and has been instrumental in creating the opportunities that are setting the course for our future,’’ he says.

Selker gets credit for expanding Northlich's expertise in brand planning and new media by recruiting new leaders and spearheading the acquisition of Columbus-based Interactive Ink, which boosted Northlich's digital capabilities.

Already under Selker the firm has created a corporate sustainability practice and consolidated its Columbus office into a space that allows for expansion. Serrianne led Northlich from a one-office, regional advertising agency to a fully integrated communications firm with multiple offices and clients across the country.
