The U.S. Navy is using hand-held computers from Psion Teklogix to help it keep track of the supplies that pass through its warehouses at Pearl Harbor and a Marine Corps base in Kaneohe Bay in Hawaii. Drivers use Psion's hand-held computer with an RFID application as part of a new system used by the Navy, started in July, that lets its see where all its stuff is at any one time. It's also expected to help save some taxpayer dollars, since purchasing officers shouldn't have to order extra, unnecessary equipment "just in case."
In March 2007, Psion Teklogix expanded its U.S. headquarters in Boone County, pledging to add about 80 jobs over the next several years.
