A partnership with the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile/U.S. Bank Foundation means Know Theatre of Cincinnati can offer the flat ticket price of $12 for every show it stages this season. Ticket prices were originally around $20. Know Theatre officials expect the ticketing initiatives to cause their audience to grow in diversity of both age and income, specifically among audience members under 35. "A couple with children can easily spend up to $200 or more for a night out. That includes a babysitter, gas, parking, a nice dinner and a show." says Managing Director Eric Vosmeier. "Know Theatre’s new ticketing pricing will allow the same night together for about half the cost."
The Haile Foundation hopes the initial uspport will encourage other community funders to support the initiative, allowing it to continue for three years. "We believe this an unprecedented initiative for a company of Know Theatre's size, and it will attract national attention to the innovation continually being embraced by Cincinnati’s arts and culture organizations," says Haile Foundation VP Eric Avner.
