Xavier University shared first place with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in a leading trade magazine's ranking of the top business graduate schools for physicians. The rankings, published by Chicago-based Modern Healthcare, were based on programs awarding master's degrees with courses that focus on physicians and clinical aspects of health care.
The Xavier program is located in the university's College of Social Science, Health, and Education. Data were collected in January and February of this year and reflect the 2007-2008 academic year. Programs were ranked on five factors: length of time to complete the program, cost of tuition, the number of days students must spend on campus, the age of the program and the total number of graduates.
"Teaching our students is a team effort; we have a great faculty, staff and alumni and other practitioners who help in this educational process," said Ida Critelli Schick, director of health services administration. Xavier’s graduate program in Health Services Administration celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, with approximately 1,500 students having completed the degree.
