Give Back Cincinnati offers three new projects

Give Back Cincinnati does just that. It's several thousand people interested in serving their community and others. It's looking for applicants for three volunteer projects coming up.  There are two trips planned -- one to Ghana, where volunteers will work with Habitat for Humanity to build housing, and the other to New Orleans. There, volunteers will also work with Habitat to help in the post-Katrina rebuilding effort.  It will be the third Give Back trip to New Orleans and the group is loking for 100 to go this time.  Applications for both trips are due March 10 and can be found at Give Back's Web site.

Its third new effort is Freedom Project 2008, a collaboration with the National Underground Freedom Center's Freedom YP young professionals group. They will form diverse Freedom Teams to participate in five of Give Back’s community service projects and share in post-service dialogue sessions. The sessions will brainstorm ways to break down the barriers of race while cultivating relationships among young, diverse professionals. Give Back volunteer Johnmark Oudersluys says the Freedom Project "helped me connect with diverse young professionals to build an appreciative and inclusive community." The deadline to apply to be part of a team is March 7, and an application can be found at Give Back's Web site.
