You could say Roy Gilbert knows a few things about start-ups. He works for a company called Google that was once a start-up and now pretty much dominates the world. Gilbert is head of global consumer operations and worked for Google India, the unit that came up with Gmail and Google Finance. He'll be delivering the keynote July 11 when
InOneWeekend.org brings its participant-driven, weekend company launch event to Cincinnati.
The not-for-profit group is bringing budding entrepreneurs and visionaries together at the University of Cincinnati to experience the startup life over the course of a weekend. From Friday, July 11th, to Sunday, July 13th, more than 100 participants will envision, build and launch a new company. Sunday night, they will launch a real startup and there’s a Monday morning start-up package complete with office space at the
Hamilton County Business Center, servers, legal and accounting help. Everyone who participates in the weekend owns part of the company. Anyone interested in participating may register at
www.inoneweekend.org. Gilbert's presentation is free and open to the public.
