Downtown-based dunnhumbyUSA, one of the region's fastest-growing companies, is opening its second office outside Cincinnati, in Chicago. The company plans to grow its business with clients there, including Kraft Foods, and use it as a base to expand its portfolio of consumer goods and retail clients. "Our Chicago-based client business continues to grow at a rapid pace," says Rob Culin, a senior VP. dunnhumby analyzes billions of customer purchase records to get a deep insight into buying behaviors and patterns, then uses that data to guide decision making and boost sales for some of the country's largest retailers.
dunnhumbyUSA is a joint venture between Cincinnati-based Kroger Co. and London-based dunnhumby. Its downtown HQ has grown from four people in 2003 to about 270 today and is still growing. It opened an office in Atlanta last summer to serve clients based in the Southeast, including Home Depot and Coca Cola. The Chicago office is being launched with staff from Cincinnati who are relocating. The company's looking for expertise in data analysis, client leadership and marketing to help grow the Chicago site.
