Twelve small-business specialists part of U.S. Bank's $3 million investment in Cincinnati

Part of U.S. Bank's plans to invest more than $3 million in its Cincinnati franchise will be to hire 12 small business specialists in neighborhood offices around the region. They are part of the effort to hire 225 employees to beef up staff to serve customers during peak times.  The bank's so-called "Powerbank" strategy also includes earlier branch opening hours, later closing hours, more competitive interest rates, and refurbished branches and ATMs at 188 branches in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

"It will be a great way to revitalize our franchise here," says James Schwab, Cincinnati market president. Local television, radio, and print advertising will get the word out about the initiative in January.  U.S. Bank employs 2,322 people in the Cincinnati area.
