Thelen Associates to stay in Forest Park

Thelen Associates, Inc. and Forest Park have a good thing going.

That's why, when Thelen decided it was time to expand, they decided to remain loyal to Forest Park, their long-term home, instead of relocating.

This is certainly good news for Forest Park, whose officials actively support Thelen, a 38 year old geotechnical testing engineering firm.

"There were many contributing factors to why we decided to stay in Forest Park," says Thelen senior vice president and treasurer J. Dale Proffitt.  "One major factor was the willingness of city officials, with whom we have a long-standing relationship."

Thelen's leadership acted on this sentiment, building a new $1.5 million 13,200 square foot facility.

This new building is home to Thelen's administrative and engineering offices, as well as a cutting edge geotechnical construction materials lab.

"Location is a huge factor for our business," Proffitt says.  "We have multiple projects on-going in the area and we dispatch personnel to those job sites daily.  Our new location allows us to meet the needs of both our company and our clients, as well as stay active in the community of Forest Park."

This community involvement is integral to Thelen's relationship with Forest Park.

Thelen has helped with local programs like the yearly Concert on the Green and involvement with Winton Woods City Schools.

Thelen's Marketing Services Manager Nancy Goins even sits on the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

The City of Forest Park will honor Thelen for its contribution and commitment to the city by presenting Thelen with the 2009 Forest Park Business Recognition Award on March 25.
