Paxico tacks on 10,000 sq ft expansion and plans to add 10 new jobs

Until this month, Paxico LLC's Owensville warehouse was overflowing with inventory.

So much so, in fact, that the manufacturer of towelettes and moist cotton pads had to store some supplies off-site, trucking them in as needed.

Not so now.

With 10,000 square feet of extra space, Paxico can now store everything under one roof.  This expansion brings the total space up to 27,000 square feet.

That means no more trucking to and fro, which amounts to savings on transportation costs and a green friendly business model, to boot.

Along with the expansion in space, Paxico also plans to add to 10 new positions to its workforce in 2009-2010.

Since selling J&B Systems (now Diverspack) and starting Paxico in 2004, founder and CEO Bill Kearney has made it Paxico's mission to specialize on towelette packaging, which he sees as a strength and market niche for the company.

"We brainstormed, came up with a list of our strengths, and looked at what was on the market. We ended up in the towelette packaging business," Kearney says.

Given Paxico's growth in 2008 – in spite of the economic downturn – and their present expansion, it's clear that Kearney chose wisely.
