High Street launches style onto interwebs

High Street, a lifestyle business known for trendsetting, commercial and residential Interior designs and brand consulting has expanded their chic, brick and mortar presence of fierce objects, design and London style to a new eCommerce website.

A concept created by Matt Knotts and Leah Spurrier, two self-made designers with liberal arts degrees, High Street's mission is to bring a more European aesthetic to the United States via their store front in Cincinnati.

"There's a very corporate approach to residential design in America," said Spurrier. "People are getting more comfortable with design and it's no longer exclusive; it's for everyone. Many companies sell a living room in a box or people are very uptight and look for a couch for four years. At High Street we wanted to bring more attitude, fun and art to the American lifestyle."

The team has wanted to take their brand national and has had great success with their blog. They have worked for over a year selecting the online product offerings, all of which are not available elsewhere on the Internet. The goal is for people to feel more empowered to make decisions to express individuality in their home and also about what the wear and gifts they give. The store and website have exclusive textiles, wall coverings and lighting, as well as books, gifts and jewelry. They are positioned as an arena where everyone can participate.

The site will feature videos, including floor moves and tutorials such as how to style your bathroom and also trend forecasting to get the connection going with the online community.

"Many people have the idea that beautiful design is only for an exclusive public. We wanted to dispel the idea and bring it to the end user, not just designers. We  interact here and it opens a whole new world to shoppers," said Knotts. "Our attitude isn't uptight; it's always a refreshing combination of both things - really expensive but at same time offering inexpensive things to easily buy an attitude around that all-inclusive idea of beauty. That is our frequency and has been a great part of being successful and wanting to accomplish that on the site."
