The City of Cincinnati will sponsor an Energy, Economics, and Environment Summit on
Oct. 2 at Duke Energy Convention Center. The event is a Green
Cincinnati initiative, part of the City’s Climate Protection Action
Plan. Businesses and organizations will gain a variety of ideas for
cost-cutting, environmentally sound improvements for their buildings
and operations.
The Summit’s condensed schedule—7:30 A.M. to 1 P.M.—allows
businesses and organizations maximum gain with a minimal time
commitment. Keynote speakers include Lee Fisher, Ohio’s Lieutenant
Governor, and John Stowell, Vice President of Environmental Health and
Safety Policy for Duke Energy. Breakout sessions cover a host of
practical topics, including high-efficiency buildings, green IT and
marketing, waste management, alternative energy, and financing for
green initiatives. A variety of local and national companies will
showcase green products and services.
Ginnell Schiller, City of Cincinnati Climate Protection
Coordinator, seeks 8-10 volunteers to guide Summit attendees and work
behind the scenes on October 2. To find out more, contact Schiller at
(513) 352-6911 or email [email protected].
