Potterhill Homes named finalist for NAHB green building awards

Potterhill Homes has been named a finalist for the 2009 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) National Green Building Awards, which will be given out at the NAHB annual conference May 8-10 in Dallas.

The annual awards honor home builders, remodelers, home builders' associations and other organizations for advancing green building through innovative design and construction techniques, excellent educational programs, and successful advocacy efforts.
The company was nominated for the 2009 Green Building Advocate of the Year Award in the "Builder" category for its efforts to make green building mainstream.

Potterhill Homes is also being recognized for its development of the Meridian Mark Green Seal, which ensures all customers purchasing a Meridian Mark affiliated home that their house meets rigorous standards for sutainability, environmental efficiency, and energy efficiency.

To achieve the Seal, builders are required to achieve at least one of the following four certifications and to build their products to meet all four of the following standards: LEED certification through the U.S. Green Building Council, ENERGY STAR, American Lung Association Healthy Homes, and the NAHB green certification.

Te Cincinnati-based builder has been active in new construction and infill projects in Bond Hill, Carthage, Greenhills, and Westwood among their 20 Greater Cincinnati communities.
