Lyn Liming, senior interior designer at
PEDCO Engineering and Architectural Services, Inc. in Sharonville, has been named the Cincinnati chapter chair of the
American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE).
COTE
is the "green" arm of the 83,000-member AIA, advancing and advocating
environmental knowledge and values to the architectural profession,
industry, and public to create sustainable buildings and communities.
Liming,
who works with architects and engineers to plan interior space and
accommodate ergonomic needs for her clients, has been an active member
of COTE since 2000 when she helped coordinate the first
Cincinnati/Dayton International Interior Design Association’s (IIDA) "Green Trade Show" at the Krohn Conservatory.
"COTE
is a unique blend of architecture and related professionals in many
different organizations that share a common interest in
sustainability," Liming says. "This year we are going to implement
loosely-structured networking times as well as host programs with
continuing education units to help meet many of our educational
commitments."
Liming also says that the Cincinnati chapter will
conduct its Cincinnati Sustainable Awards program this summer, and will
host the AIA chapter annual meeting in October.
During her
career at PEDCO, Liming has achieved certification as a LEED Accredited
Professional, as an Interior Designer in Kentucky, and with the
National Council for Interior Design Qualification.
In
2003, she spearheaded the LEED documentation for the American Laundry
Building in Norwood, the region's first brownfield green renovation
project.
She also has received the IIDA 2009 Chapter Shining
Star Award of Excellence Award in recognition of her dedication,
inspiration and leadership.
