Green Leader: Cincinnati ranked number 1 in metro sustainability

Site Selection's annual sustainability rankings recognize both corporate and community efforts to create green spaces.

Gone are the days of corporate giants ignoring the environmental impact of their actions. Many investors and tenants now seek out sustainable locations, and Cincinnati is leading the way in green initiatives.

According to Site Selection, which ranks metro areas based on a variety of factors including LEED buildings, green industry projects, and use of the EPA’s Brownfields Program grants and cleanups, among other things. Among the things that made Cincinnati number 1 were the 2018 Green Cincinnati Plan (GCP), which includes 80 strategies to reduce Cincinnati’s carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050; and Procter & Gamble’s newly updated “Ambition 2030” plan, which addresses finite resources and growing consumption.
