It may not be the most eloquent love story, but The Barber of Seville is a comedic one. The University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music presents this Italian sung opera which follows a suitor, Count Almaviva and his scissor-packing sidekick Figaro on a quest to be with the beautiful Rosina who’s under the close watch of an overbearing guardian. Almaviva encounters one mishap after another in one of the most popular operas of all time. Tickets are only $15 dollars which leaves enough room in your budget to buy your valentine some flowers. Off to Never Never Land

Take the second star to the right and go straight on till morning this weekend with Peter Pan the ballet. The Cincinnati Ballet is creating the adventures of Never Never Land through pirouettes and tutus. This classical performance has all the charms of the beloved child’s story and it’s taking stage for three days only, so don’t miss the chance to see the boy who would never grow up battle the evil Captain Hook  with the help of Tink and the Lost Boys for his love Wendy Darling. They’ve got an exhibit of over 80 paintings by artists like Florence Smithburn and Edgar Hatten on display and up for sale. A Not So Romantic Serenade
