Gregory Williams, City College President, to head University of Cincinnati
The University of Cincinnati has selected Gregory Williams, former head of the City College of New York, as their new President after Dr. Nancy Zimpher took the chancellor position with the State University of New York earlier this year. Dr. Williams oversaw 60 percent growth to over 16,000 students while at the City College of New York – considered to be the flagship of the larger City University of New York system which boasts 11 senior colleges. During that time admission standards were strengthened at the traditional diverse institution which has more than 87 percent of its undergraduate and graduate students from racial minority groups.
