Nordstrom to open 138,000 square foot store in Kenwood this summer

Within three short months, Cincinnati shoppers will be treated to their first Nordstrom department store when it opens at the popular upscale Kenwood Towne Center shopping destination.

The Kenwood area has quickly become Cincinnati’s premier upscale shopping district as many new stores continue to open in and around the busy Kenwood Towne Center along Interstate 71.

The new department store will occupy 138,000 square feet on two levels and employ roughly 250 people at the Kenwood location which is located at the former Parisian department store that was demolished to make room for the new Nordstrom.

Nordstrom will bring its notable customer service, high-end designers and in-store brands to the Cincinnati market later this summer.  Nordstrom will also bring its Rack outlet store to Cincinnati at Rookwood Pavilion when it opens on Friday, November 20.

The official grand opening of the Nordstrom department store at Kenwood Towne Center will be on Friday, September 25 when the store opens at 10am.  In the meantime, the company has planned several other events that will lead to the grand opening.

On Saturday, September 12, Nordstrom will allow shoppers a sneak-peek at their lingerie department before the grand opening at the Nordstrom Fits America event (8:30am to 4:30pm).  Those who attend will receive a complimentary bra fitting with a certified expert with $2 of every bra purchase going to the Greater Cincinnati affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  Call (866) 231-4657 to make your reservation as space is limited.

Then on Wednesday, September 23, Nordstrom will host the Grand Opening Gala (7pm to 10pm) where guests can enjoy cocktails, dinner and dessert buffets, live entertainment and shopping.  Tickets are $75 and all proceeds will benefit the signature projects of Cris Collinsworth ProScan Fund, Lighthouse Youth Services and The Links, Inc.  Tickets can be purchased by calling (513) 924-2114 or by visiting www.nordstromcincinnatigala.com.
