Flying high in Northern Kentucky

The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) and its Delta Air Lines hub have been an incredible economic development tool for Northern Kentucky and our work attracting companies to the region.  CVG has, for many years, been one of the most expensive airports in the country from which to originate travel.  Recently, Delta announced it cut fares for flights into or out of CVG by 5 to 60 percent. The new fares will affect 80 percent of travelers leaving or coming into CVG and are effective immediately. The new fares have been embraced by many in the business community, their employees and the residents of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Delta currently offers 300 flights to more than 91 destinations from CVG.  The international and direct flights Delta offers from its hub at CVG have helped Northern Kentucky Tri-ED attract many corporate headquarters, advanced manufacturers and high-tech companies to the region – targeted industry sectors for new and expanding businesses.  Since it was founded in 1987, Northern Kentucky Tri-ED has helped more than 480 companies locate or expand in Northern Kentucky accounting for 46,991 new primary jobs and $4.6 B in capital investment.  Many of those companies came to the region and stayed here because of the airport and the number of flights and destinations offered by Delta.

CVG is one of the country's most modern and easy-to-use international airports as well as one of the busiest in the U.S.  CVG has consistently been rated among the best airports in surveys by SkyTrax, AC Nielsen, OAG Worldwide and the International Air Transport Association. J.D. Power rated CVG one of the 10 Best Hub Airports in North America in 2008.  In January, the CVG website was named one of the top 10 airport websites in the world and one of the top five in the U.S. by Aviation.com.

Northern Kentucky Tri-ED has worked with the Airport Board, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau, Cincinnati USA Chamber, the local community and several other organizations to put the region and CVG on the path to continued success. We intend to continue our aggressive promotion of Northern Kentucky to new and existing businesses. Delta's lowered fare structure has re-energized one of the outstanding differentiators our community has enjoyed for years – The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
