UC graduate students make it to the finals in a competitive urban design competition

A graduate student team from the University of Cincinnati is one of four finalists — chosen out of 90 entries — competing in the 17th annual ULI Hines Student Competition, a contest that challenges graduate students to devise a comprehensive design and development scheme for an actual site in an urban area.

The UC team might have a bit of an advantage, as this year’s site is in Cincinnati and includes portions of a highway, the central business district, and the central riverfront along the Ohio River.

The final round is in April, and the team that manages to best create a vibrant, pedestrian-oriented, sustainable, mixed-use neighborhood will win $50,000. Read more about the competition here.
