Cities across the Carolinas are quickly becoming hotbeds for technical innovation, causing them to transform tobacco warehouses and textile mills into luxury offices for tech giants like Dell, Cisco, EMC, NetApp, and IBM. The growing tech sector in the region led RoundTower, a Cincinnati-based technology solutions provider, to expand into the area.
Founded in Cincinnati in 2007 by Stephen West and Stephen Power, RoundTower has grown both headcount and revenue nationwide. The company employs 407 people across the country, and did $435 million in revenue last year, up from $364 million in 2017, according to John Anthony, RoundTower’s vice president of sales in Charlotte.
“Scaling and expanding to new territories is difficult,” says Matt Steckel, RoundTower district manager. “But it’s a lot easier when you have access to some of the best talent in the country and a relatively low cost of living.”
