Drink To The Future
September 17
What better way to show young professionals from over 25 states descending upon Cincinnati for the Next Leaders Summit a good time than by asking them to purchase a few bottles of Shiraz/Syrah and mingle for a good cause. Cincinnati is honored to host the only national dialogue of this kind for YP’s this Thursday through Saturday, and one of the activities on the agenda is the Bacchanalian Society Wine Tasting.  The Bacchanalian Society hosts quarterly tastings with a different wine varietal, venue and charity each time. The event allows teams to bring three bottles of the same featured varietal to the event where they're ranked by your fellow wine enthusiasts.  This tasting benefits Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity and will take place on Fountain Square from 7:00-10:00 p.m. So grab some Shiraz and head to the Square for an evening of wine and conversation with our out of town guests. Rules of the Bacchanalian wine tasting can be confusing so click here for a full overview.

3 For 1

September 18
The Bengals aren’t the only ones who have season openers around here. The Alice F. and Harris K. Weston Gallery will open its 2009-2010 exhibition season with not one, but three new shows beginning this Friday. See Ryan Mulligan’s darkly humorous, somewhat-autobiographical narratives as they’re told through low-tech installations in a collaboration of new works titled “I’ll just ask dad.” Also on display are Form as a Cognitive System: Frescoes by Michael Sharber and Virtue in the Struggle: Installation and Works on Paper by Casey Riordan Millard. You have until October 6th to view these three great shows at one great gallery.

The newly transformed alternative art and event space will feature different themes on each of its two floors. The grand re-opening features a costume contest with prizes, Captain Morgan’s Spice Girls, silent auction, surf and turf bites and of course, more pirates and mermaids than you can shake a starfish at. There will also be live music along with DJ Harvination providing beats all night long. Tickets are $10 presale and $15 at the door; 21+. See you on the high seas.
