THE Office Party

There’s no better way to celebrate the holidays than with 3,000 of your not-so-closest co-workers. This Thursday, the Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency, turns into one big cubicle for the 2008 World’s Largest Office Party! No caroling here, only live music by Marsha Brady Band, Naked Karate Girls and the Dog House along with local celebs assuming the role of the wait staff serving food and drinks. It’s only $10 at the door and all proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Cincinnati. Party starts at 5 p.m., so don’t be late.

Anything but Pitiful

Not in the mood for a big holiday party? Come out to Mr. Pitiful’s for an OTR Holiday Happy Hour Thursday from 5:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. It’s more than a happy hour though, with live music by Messerly & Ewing, seasonal favorite Christian Moerlein Christkindl Winter Warmer Ale and chances to win a number of raffle prizes from Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Art Museum, Findlay Market, High Street, Know Theatre and more, it’s a community bonding time. All proceeds will benefit the Over-the-Rhine Foundation. So come grab some ale and see if you can be the lucky winner of a one week vacation in a private, luxury home in Cabo San Lucas; I bet it’s not snowing there!

Clawing its Way into AVS

It was Cincinnati’s variation of Studio 54 and for a limited time (7 days to be exact) the seductive Club Clau lives again. The "Art of Clau" exhibit takes over AVS Art Gallery to showcase over 150 artifacts from the illustrious nightclub. View paintings that hung on the club walls, photographs by Andrew VanSickle and Jeffery Anderson which captured the energy that was Clau, the “white” VIP couches and much more. An Unconventional Christmas Carol

“M‘arley was dead: to begin with and the Grinch shouted Bah Humbug as Frosty the Snowman thumpetty thump thumped and the magi brought gifts to the Babe, who exclaimed as he drove out of sight, Feliz Navidad!” Well, that might not be exactly how the story goes, but after hearing the same old holiday tales year after year, they sort of start to run together. That’s exactly why the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is performing Every Christmas Story Ever Told!! If you’re all bah humbugged out, then head to Arnold’s Bar & Grill for a non-traditional 90 minute performance of all the traditional tales, with a little cultural humor thrown in as well. Show runs Sunday-Tuesdays thru December 30.
