Conventional art created in a studio and on an easel is a thing of the past. Jason Brunson opens our eyes to a world of creativity that was once thought of as juvenile, with his works of graffiti art. Star Gazer: New Art of Jason Brunson opens this Friday at AVS Art Gallery, a new contemporary gallery in the Soapbox district, where Brunson will showcase his newest endeavors with graffiti. Show runs through September 13.

Art meets music at Taft Museum of Art this summer as they bring Midwestern songwriters to the forefront with their Taft Sessions, a series of concerts held at the museum. This is the final weekend of Taft Sessions, so don’t miss Peter Muley, the self-described “city kid,” and opening act Lisa Walker and Chuck Cleaver from the band Wussy, a recipient of four stars from both Rolling Stone and Spin. Enjoy your Sunday under the tent in Taft’s garden listening to good music, then head inside to catch an exhibit or two! Concert starts at 2 pm and is free with any exhibit admission.
