Mt. Adams Christian Moerlein Oktoberfest

Experience a pub crawl between eight bars on the hill, celebrating Cincinnati’s vibrant German heritage. Presented by Moerlein Lagers & Ales, the 2010 Mt. Adams Oktoberfest is an outdoor celebration of beer, food and music carrying on the Mt. Adams tradition of Oktoberfest. Taste and listen to the Bavarian traditions with live music and food during this free event, open to pedestrian traffic.

Baba Budan's
Hejira, an arabic band that includes CCM grad Don Baragiano, makes a handful of stops in Cincinnati this week. Baragiano migrated to Seattle in 2001, and met Ashraf Hakim a first chair cellist for the Cairo Opera House in Cairo, Egypt. Baragiano was already a talented American world music composer who had formed Hejira in 2001. Over time the dynamics of the group shifted, and Hejira was pared down to just Baragiano and Hakim, whose collaboration and interplay has become the core spirit of the group.
8th Annual StreetScapes: A Street Painting Festival
Saturday, September 18 & Sunday, September 19, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
Telford Street at Ludlow Avenue, Clifton
Watch as the Clifton business district is transformed into a canvas of famous works of art using custom-made chalk on the bare streetscapes. Local artists will recreate works from the Renaissance to the Modern Contemporary Art periods during this two-day festival. Children can showcase their inner artist by participating in the creation of a giant chalk mural on the pavement. Event is free and open to the public. Hanging Garden presented by The Global Tree Project

Holy Cross Church, 1055 St. Paul Place, Mt. Adams
View the most recent site-specific installation from the Global Tree Project, an international art initiative that seeks to open and affirm connections between audiences and the natural world. In the abandoned deconsecrated 19th century Holy Cross Church in Mount Adams, Shinji Turner-Yamamoto’s forty-foot installation features a live birch tree supported by a large inverted dead birch tree creating a suspended garden. The flora makes visible connections and similarities between plant life and humanity, and emphasizes the interconnectedness of all life. Exhibition is free and open to the public. Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center
Dance your way around the works of one of the most influential artists of this generation, Brazilian sculptor Ernesto Neto. The exhibition is an environment created by the artist specifically for the CAC which engages all the senses. Neto brings new life to the very concept of sculpture and architecture by creating these soaring spaces and immersive environments that invite engagement on many levels, both formal and philosophical.
