Roselawn based Employers Resource Association has offered a host of services and training to human resources professionals in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana for more than 60 years.

ERA has become a more valued resource for area companies as modern workplace rules have become more complex and company HR departments shrink.
"Theoretically, we augment a company's HR department, but in many small and medium-sized companies there is often one person who is designated the HR point person. That person is saddled with HR problems and policies, and their membership with ERA is very important. We are sort of their HR department from afar. We don’t do things for them, but we advise them," explained Dan Chaney, Director of HR Advisory Services.
ERA's client base has grown 250 percent in the last decade, and in 1996 the non-profit purchased a Columbus company to expand its reach. ERA has 21 full and part-time employees who have an average of 25 years HR experience.
Among the company's most popular services is the HR Hotline, which clients can call any time of day to get advice on a myriad of human resource questions. ERA experts field about 8,000 calls each year.
The company also conducts regional benchmark surveys, has an HR library that includes sample job descriptions, policies and forms, an employee handbook template and newsletters that come along with ERA membership. Fees are based on company size.
ERA also conducts more than 250 training and development sessions for HR professionals, executives and supervisors.
