Chenese Bean, of Western Hills, is a self-taught makeup artists who began as a freelance event artist. She worked at the cosmetic counter beautifying women during events sponsored by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, L’Oreal, Fashion Fair, MAC Cosmetics, CoverGirl Queen and others.
“I worked at these events outside of a full-time job and that helped me build my credentials,” Bean said.
Bean’s been a makeup artist since 1998, and after parting ways with a local bank in 2008 where she was an employee, devoted her efforts full-time to her business Chenese Bean Makeup Artistry.
Bean works out of an office in Roselawn and clients include making up casts of television and film productions. Some are Cincinnati-area clients but many are from out of town, shooting in the city for a short time, she said.
She’s worked with Fifth Third Bank on a video project, and was the makeup artist for a Cincinnati Children’s nurse campaign billboards. She’s also made up Virgin Records recording artist Sharissa, and Sony Music recording group Jagged Edge.
Bean also offers bridal makeup services.
