A Chicago import to Cincinnati has turned her skill and training in design and marketing into a company that does a wide array of marketing projects for Fortune 500 companies.
NuVision, based in Oakley, began as an independent consulting business for Karla J. Tedford and her husband/partner Michael Hauck in the mid-90s.
“NuVision is a marketing communications company with an emphasis on training and development. We specialize in meetings and events, video production, multimedia and print media,” Tedford said.
She’s worked with companies including SmithKineBeecham, Ross Labs, Western Southern Life, Great American Insurance Company and Proctor & Gamble.
Tedford, who grew up in the Chicago area, has a degree in Advertising Design from Colorado Institute of Art. She eventually developed an interest in computer graphics, and shortly after graduation, Tedford worked as a designer with ImageMatrix of Cincinnati. That was followed by a job at Procter & Gamble as a computer graphic designer.
Eventually Tedford took her skills and learning solo by starting NuVision, which she incorporated in 2002. Her services include print design, web site creation and marketing, meeting and events, video production and photography, speaker training and graphic support and computer graphics.
“NuVision designed and conceptualized Obryonville.com, which has been recognized as one of the best marketed websites for Cincinnati Business Districts and community councils,” Tedford said.
The company works with about 7 core contract artists and a dozen others when needed.
“NuVision’s business model employs a core group of independent artists, allowing us to customize our customer needs with the right talent,” Tedford said.
NuVision expects further growth in the immediate future after recently being certified as a Woman-owned business.
