Since 1989, Singer Showroom has focused on supplying interior designers with top-of-the line products in its trade-only showroom near Cincinnati's riverfront. The company sells upholstered furniture, fabric, trim, drapes, window treatments, lighting and more to designers across Greater Cincinnati. Singer Showroom also prides itself in great customer service, which owner Matt Davidson said is a key to its success.
Davidson, of Mason, is approaching 2010 by investing in the company with a goal to be known as the region's premiere destination for residential interior design wholesale products. He started the year with random customer surveys, gathering feedback on how to best serve designers. Singer's also adding new furniture lines and services like furniture rental for staging companies.
"We've been told that our showroom is the only one to invite designers to participate in our strategic planning through surveys, casual round table discussions and participation in a formal Designer Advisory Board," he said.
The company employed three, but recently hired a fourth employee to focus on marketing efforts.
Davidson owns a 23,000 sq. ft. building near Kings Island in Mason and is consider increasing inventory by using the space to receive and store furniture.
"Spending right now is a bit of a gamble, but we believe it is the right time to invest in our showroom and to strengthen our market position. We are reaching out and spending money to meet the needs of the design community at a time when many have continued to pull back, and in ways that have never been explored," he said.
