You will have a variety of glasses to choose from for specific class projects. All supplies are provided. Participants may want to purchase their own supplies as they progress with their skills and techniques. All classes take place in the art room at ArtsConnect Springfield Township Community Arts Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Building A, behind the fire station. Ages 16 and up Mondays, 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. $165 for non-members per 6-week session $148.50 for members per 6-week session Our Instructor: Heather Hitchman Heather Hitchman is the Nature Shop Manager at Cincinnati Nature Center. Heather holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History and Art Education from Mt. St. Joseph, a Master of Arts in Art Education from Miami University and a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Tennessee. African Group Drumming : 6 weeks : MAY - JUNE

Mondays, 6:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. $100 non-member/ $90 member Drop-in for a single class for $20 In West Africa, rhythm is a part of everyday life. Join us as we learn some traditional and contemporary rhythms of the nations of Guinea, Mali and Senegal regions of West Africa. Drumming is fun, therapeutic and promotes unity in a group setting connecting us. Learn to be in unity while playing with others in this group class. All ages are welcome. Drums are provided, although if you have an African Djembe drum, please bring it. Register for a 6-week session or come when you can and pay a drop-in fee of $20. Kids Sewing: 6 classes : MAY - JUNE

Ages 8 - 13, Mondays, 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. $80 for non-members per 6-week session / $72 for members per 6-week session This class is for kids of all levels. For beginners, students will make simpler projects developing their skills. Those that are more advanced will do appropriate higher-level projects. Projects will be individualized based on each student's level of experience. All supplies are included, yet children are welcome to bring any fabrics they would like to use. Bring your own sewing machine or use one of ours. Class Structure: Kid's Sewing classes are taught in the Cardinal Room of ArtsConnect Community ArtsCenter (the building behind the fire station). Intro to Wheel : Monday EVENING : MAY

Intro to Wheel, teaches participants the basics of throwing clay on a pottery wheel. Students will learn important pottery studio rules and procedures used in all of our pottery classes. Intro to Wheel class is mandatory for those wanting to buy a pottery studio pass to use the studio during open times. Check out more information about pottery studio passes here: https://www.theartsconnect.us/222/Memberships Once students have mastered the basic skills of the wheel they may then move onto our more challenging class, Intermediate Wheel. In this class students will strengthen their pottery skills and learn more advanced techniques. The cost of each pottery class includes all supplies. Supplies provided are: 25 lb white clay, glazes, all the firing needed, and the use of our clay tools. More clay is available for purchase if necessary, although we usually find 25 lbs is enough for one session. Pottery Wheel classes are recommended for ages 15 and older. Into to Wheel is offered Monday afternoons from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 pm.
