LaRosa’s Hoxworth Blood Tour
Presented by LaRosa's Pizzerias and Hoxworth Blood Center at LaRosa's Pizzerias
LaRosa’s is partnering with Hoxworth Blood Center to host a series of mobile blood drives through August 31 at its pizzerias in Greater Cincinnati, to help save lives locally. Hoxworth is experiencing an extremely low inventory of O Negative and O Positive blood supply due to high hospital usage locally. Anyone interested in donating blood should schedule an appointment in advance. Blood donors at the mobile blood drive events at LaRosa’s pizzerias throughout July and August will receive a coupon for a small two topping LaRosa’s pizza, a Cincinnati Favorites mini-tote bag and a promotional item from Hoxworth, as part of the Cincinnati Favorites Blood Drive Tour. TEEN Intro to Woodworking : 4 weeks : JULY - AUG

Ages 12 - 17 Tuesdays, 4:15 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. $120 non-members/ $108 members This class is designed to help teens feel comfortable and confident when using woodshop tools. No power tools and equipment are used. Teen Woodworking classes will run for 4 weeks. Projects will differ per session. Register for all and become skilled and confident teen woodworkers! There will be several breaks built into the class. Teen Intro to Woodworking is held on Tuesdays from 4:15 pm - 7:15 pm p.m. in our newly renovated woodshop at ArtsConnect Springfield Township Arts Center, 9158 Winton Rd, Building A, behind the fire station. *Please bring eye protection and wear comfortable clothes. No open-toed shoes. At ArtsConnect, we encourage children to explore their creativity independently to foster confidence and original thinking. While we ask that you sign your child in to class, to help your child gain the most from their class experience we kindly request that parents refrain from staying in the classroom. During class, we invite you to enjoy our complimentary coffee and tea, free Wi-Fi, and comfortable seating areas indoors and outdoors. Andrew Bird with A Symphony Orchestra

With a distinctive sound that resists categorization, Grammy nominated violinist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Andrew Bird, makes his debut with a Live Symphony Orchestra at Taft Theatre on August 4. Balancing swelling sounds with jazz, folk, and pop melodies in an unforgettable display of unique virtuosity, Bird celebrates the 20th anniversary of his acclaimed record The Mysterious Production of Eggs. Featuring a top-to-bottom album performance with orchestral arrangements, Bird caps off the performance with a suite of fan-favorite tunes from his near 30-year repertoire. Since beginning his recording career in 1997, Andrew Bird has released 18 albums and performed extensively across the globe, headlining concerts at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and festivals worldwide. Bird has been a featured TED Talks presenter, a New Yorker Festival guest, and an op-ed contributor for the New York Times. He performed as the Whistling Caruso in Disney's The Muppets and scored the FX Series Baskets. Shortly after receiving his 2020 Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album, Bird made his professional acting debut in the cast of FX’s Fargo. Learn the basic techniques of leatherworking to make fashion items and everyday objects. In leatherworking, you will learn stamping, dyeing, and stitching to make book covers, purses, bags, jewelry, wallets, and much more! All supplies included. Leatherworking Ages 14 and older Tuesdays, 6:30 -8:30 p.m. $145 for non-members per 6-week session $130.50 for members per 6-week session Learn the basic techniques of leatherwork. Practice stamping, dyeing, stitching, finishing and wet forming of leather. Participants will make several leather craft projects in this class. All supplies are included. Leatherworking is held in the woodshop of ArtsConnect Springfield Township Arts Center, 9158 Winton Road, Building A, building behind the fire station.
