Signs of New York: Creation of the Music World Mural
Presented by American Sign Museum at American Sign Museum Cincinnati, OH
Signs of New York: Creation of the Music World Mural Thursday, April 16 7 – 8 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm) $5 for members, $25 for non-members Join graphic artist Tom Ickert for a discussion of how he created a larger-than-life sign in the Big Apple. A native of Mansfield (the “Fun Center of Ohio”), Tom spent his early years devouring coloring books and drawing on any blank sheet of paper he could get his hands on. Throughout his school years he was involved in any art project that would be thrown his way, from posters to school banners to programs and fliers. It only seemed natural that he would pursue a career in Graphic Design and Illustration so he entered a four-year program at Ohio University. We have, however, gone to great lengths to preserve the original character of the building while updating for it’s new purpose. We retained all the original stained glass windows and custom-built, curved pews. We have added a full concession stand with draft beer and wine, as well as a full bar. We partner with local Dayton, KY business Kate’s Catering for our prepared food options. We have added full lighting and sound systems, as well as a complete broadcast-quality video system for recording events and live podcasts. Studio Kroner 5th Anniversary: What Have I Done? — Exhibition by Paul Kroner
Presented by Studio Kroner at Studio Kroner Cincinnati, OH
Studio Kroner marks its fifth anniversary with What Have I Done?, a solo exhibition by founder and Cincinnati-based sculptor Paul Kroner. Since opening in 2021, the artist-run gallery has presented 24 exhibitions featuring more than 50 visual artists, as well as poets, writers, and performers, while hosting artist talks and public conversations that connect contemporary art with broader cultural dialogue. To mark the milestone, Kroner presents his first featured solo exhibition in the space. Rather than a retrospective, What Have I Done? brings together new work alongside earlier pieces from his catalog, revealing an ongoing exploration of balance, relationships, and ambiguity within figurative sculpture. Humor and vulnerability often coexist in the work, inviting viewers to engage without insisting on a single interpretation.
